Metadata templates

An important step in the document registration process is the selection of a metadata template. Templates allow you to associate computable metadata with the document. This can support standardization and automation. For example, in the case of a corporate security, standard fields might be "Number of Shares" and "Investment Amount" - fields that would be standard in any cap table management software. Templated metadata can assist in forcing conformance to data standards, which in turn supports universal automation.

In the case of the creation of a new Smart Document, the metadata will be written directly into the document as well as your Integra Connect database. In the case of registering an existing document, the metadata will not be written into the document but will be saved to your Integra Connect database.
