When a new Integra ID is generated for a document, a corresponding hash is also created. A hash is like a digital fingerprint for the data. Together, the hash and the Integra ID form a unique pair, ensuring the authenticity and uniqueness of the document. This guarantees that the exact document was registered at a specific time and date on the Integra Ledger blockchain. It proves the document's existence at that moment but does not verify the legitimacy or authenticity of its contents. Because the hash is a digital fingerprint, even a minor change (such as a single space or punctuation) will alter the hash. Comparing an altered document's hash and ID with the original will show they don't match, ensuring document authenticity.
